About Asken

Asken Ltd is a consultancy business specialising in Countryside Management, operated by Ken Taylor. For a copy of Ken's CV, click here.

Asken is a small consultancy and so clients benefit from:

  • Wysiwyg - unlike many larger consultancies, what you see is what you get
  • Commitment - all clients and all projects get the boss's attention until completion
  • use of a wide network of experienced
  • Consultants - for more details click here

Asken is used to, and welcomes, the chance to work in larger multi-discipline teams.

Its expertise is vested in Ken's 30 years' experience in consultancy, initially in farm management advisory work with the Milk Marketing Board's Farm Management Services in the south and north west of England.  Since 1986, firstly with Laurence Gould Consultants and ultimately Entec UK, Ken has worked on a wide range of consultancy projects for public sector and corporate clients.  Ken is a keen mountaineer, hill-walker and rights-of-way user of some 35 years, an activity he has practised around the world.  Ken is able to bring his considerable personal experience of both consultancy and access to bear on what has become a particularly topical issue.

Asken’s expertise has now been widened by the addition of Ros Taylor.  Like Ken, Ros comes from an agricultural background, with a degree in agriculture from Reading University, 5 years experience as a farm management consultant and a similar period leading the Young Farmers’ rural policy work.  After gaining an MBA from Warwick University, Ros spent 10 years in financial services before establishing her own dog-caring business.  This business was sold in 2005 and Ros now works alongside Ken on consultancy project, where her analytical and marketing skills are put to good use.
